  • 98) Bat house installed

    98)  Bat house installed - September 29, 2001
                     Eagle Scout candidate Brian Waltz, other scouts and Steve Davis install the bat house!  The bat house is a large structure and has been Brian's Eagle Scout project.  His has done extensive research, design and construction work on this project and it is now complete.  Good job!

    97)  Squires Tavern committee meeting - September 29, 2001
                     Major issue: review and approve bids for priority work to be done by contractors in the near future including sill, exterior trim and clapboard repairs, exterior painting, shingling the roof, major chimney repairs and heating system testing and repair.

  • 96) Lining up contractors

    96)  Lining up contractors - September 28, 2001
                     Bids are opened for contract proposals.  Over the last week, Walt and Dave have been very busy talking to potential bidders, meeting with contractors to view the work site, checking on references and attending to many details involved with the "request for proposals".

                     The Wednesday morning work crew tackled some clean up work in the basement.

  • 94) Progress on the bat house

    94)  Progress on the bat house - September 22, 2001
                     Eagle Scout candidate Brian Waltz, Steve Davis and others do some preliminary work on the installation of the bat house.  Many bats live in the attic of the Tavern and in the future they will be "encouraged" to move out.  The large bat house has been constructed by Brian as an alternative residence for the bats and will be located near the Tavern.

  • 93) Grant work

    93)  Grant work - September 21, 2001
                     Harriet and Ted meet to review the Farmington River Coordinating Committee grant application.  A number of requirements will need to be completed to apply for the grant.  Also, Leslie continues to get more information on a Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) grant which could possibly be a large amount.  Another possibility is additional State OPM grant funding.
