  • 131) Squires Tavern contractor work

    131)  Squires Tavern contractor work - December 15, 2001
                     Contractors working on the Squires Tavern have made progress during this week.  Bill Parsons has installed flue tile for stove all the way up the front kitchen chimney and is now was working on the thimble for the wood stove.  Plumber Clayton Webb has reviewed work that needs to be done.  In the next few days he will install some new valves and rework the pipes to bring hot water to the kitchen sink.

    130)  Squires Tavern work party - December 14, 2001
                     Volunteers remove the outside flood light by office door and remove all wires and conduit pipes.  The old electric hot water heater has been disconnected from the wiring so that it can be removed.  Preliminary work on the bulkhead is done.

  • 129) Research trip to Old Sturbridge Village

    129)  Research trip to Old Sturbridge Village - December 12, 2001
                     Seven Squires Tavern committee members go to Old Sturbridge Village and meet there with experts Jack Larkin and Ed Hood.  These two along with other Sturbridge Village staff provided some good background and addressed specific issues relating to the Squires Tavern restoration work.

                     Volunteers wash, inspect and catalog most of the artifacts found during the archeological dig during October.
