Barkhamsted Historical Society
- Barkhamsted, Connecticut
The Barkhamsted Historical Society will try to assist
you with genealogical inquiries and requests for copies of materials from our collection.
We will attempt to handle basic or limited inquiries at no cost, however for more
extensive research and copying we charge a $10 per hour fee. BHS is also willing
to take digital photos of gravestones, family homesteads, churches and/or any
other local sites that may be of interest to a family historian. We can send
these via e-mail for a flat fee of $20.00. Click here for information on how to
contact us.
If you would like to volunteer to research genealogical
inquiries, we would be most grateful! We desperately need help in this area.
If you have any interest at all, PLEASE
contact us!
See links to other genealogy resources at the bottom of this page.

the content on this page as much as time and resources permit. As a start,
we have some genealogical material in our collection relating to the surnames listed
below. The material associated with these names can range from good to very
limited (an example of limited being a single birth certificate or marriage license).

The
History and Genealogy section of the Connecticut State Library is a
major genealogy resource. Here you can get an idea of just what they
have available, which includes Connecticut vital records, church, census,
land, probate and military records. Understand that little if any
of this is accessible directly through the Internet, however they do accept
e-mail reference questions. |
