Hello,
Would someone be kind enough to help me? I live in
Canada and it is almost impossible to get information from here. My
question is the following: According to a long article that I have read
in a newsletter, Connecticut Ancestry, The Stamford Genealogical Society,
November 1984 issue, there is a stone monument, erected by the DAR,
south of Wallens Street between Stanton Avenue and Baker Street( much
closer to Stanton Street) in Winchester, Ct. Can anyone tell me if it
is still there? If it is, I would love a recent photo. If a photo is
not possible, to know if it is still there or not would suffice. The
lot was given by my 5th maternal grandfather John Darby, to the city of
Winchester in 1787. I have contacted the Winsted Historical Society
with no response.
Thank you,
Andy in Ottawa
