    Call for Volunteers and Docents

The Barkhamsted Historical Society is currently seeking individuals who would like to help by volunteering for the many activities currently being undertaken by the Historical Society. Opportunities to volunteer are available in a wide range of activities, from participating in archaeological digs to acting as docent's (guides) for our historic Squires' Tavern or our one room Center Hill School House. Docent training is scheduled to begin on September 29th at the Squires Tavern. Other opportunities to volunteer include: cataloging artifacts from past archaeological digs, working in our collections department, or working on one of our many committees. If you are interested in volunteering please contact us or stop by the Historical Society, Wednesdays between 9:00 am and 12:00 or on Sundays between 1:00 and 4:00. The Historical Society is looking to expand it's hours to Saturday and is in need of docents to do so. Join a great group of people working to preserve Barkhamsted's history and heritage. We hope to hear from you!
