Collections

Our Society maintains a collection of documents, artifacts, photos and other objects relevant to the Town of Barkhamsted from the earliest geological events through the time of the first inhabitants and on through the present day. Information about the Lighthouse Community, the village of Riverton, the towns agricultural and industrial history, the one room schools and the constuction of the Barkhamsted Reservoir are but a few of the topics we work on preserving. We also maintain a small library with books and other printed source materials related to the town. Genealogy and/or historical research is available as staff and volunteer time permits. Please call 860-738-2456 or email us for further information and fee schedule.
